Spiritual Life
at New Hope
New Hope has many opportunities for you to grow in your faith and relationship with God. Your spiritual journey is very important to us. We will intentionally walk with you as you seek and grow in a greater understanding of God, the world, and God’s purpose for you in the world. At New Hope we recognize that every person is at a different place in their spiritual journey. As we look to the Holy Spirit for guidance, we well be your companion on your journey to spiritual growth and a closer relationship with Christ.
Bible Study
The spiritual growth of Christians is very important to us here at New Hope, That is why we offer Bible study classes to help equip you on your lifelong journey in becoming the person God created you to be. Through videos and discussion of various topics related to living a Christian life you will grow in your faith and your knowledge of God. New Hope Bible Study is held every Sunday morning from 9:30am – 10:30am. Until further notice, Bible Study will be conducted by Zoom
Prayer Group
The Prayer Group meets by Zoom every third Thursday of the month at 11:00am. Prayers of concern and expressions of Thanksgiving are lifted up by the participants. A passage of scripture is also introduced by the leader for discussion by the group. You are invited to join by zoom for prayer or you may send your prayer request by email to the church office or to the leader of the prayer group.
Fundraising
Our major fund raising event which helps to fund our mission work is the Annual Tad Marsh Golf Tournament. As many as 120 golfers have participated in our golf tournaments that are held at a local golf course. The participants win prizes, many of which are donated by local businesses. Following the 18 hole round of play, the golfers then meet in the club house where dinner is served while fellowship and laughter fill the room. By the way, you don’t have to be a “good” golfer to join in on the fun.
Theology On Tap
In the spirit of Martin Luther, we gather at a local restaurant or establishment for food and drink and theological discussion. We meet once a quarter on a day that is most convenient for those wishing to attend. Open to all ages (21+ of course), we enjoy 90 minutes of fellowship, food, and drink as we celebrate the mysteries of scripture and faith. Always an enlightening endeavor, we have been know to discuss questions surrounding such topics as the nature of the Trinity, the Old and New Covenant, Faith and Science and other interesting topics.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
